Now we just have to find someone to teach it. Bill Lindloff of ProCuts has the NY GOL franchise and has run one of those more than 5 years ago. He has not done one since, due to lack of demand.

Yup, I have logged with a Honda Foreman and a small (4'x5') trailer since moving Downeast.
Plenty of friends have made light ( actually made good natured fun of us ) of the extra work involved since they all have tractors ; too much $$$ for us that goes elsewhere such as bucket list travel.
So, the tree is felled, bucked and delimbed in place, then the butts hauled to stack near the woodshed for Spring splitting (electric ) and stacking. Noodling is necessary for butts that are too much for me to put in the trailer; a pulphook is my love along with Mr. Peavy.
Sure, I could drag logs to the house, but the trails and ground are rough except in snow. It seems simpler and faster to cut and carry in place.
Some call "appropriate tech" or that new one of yours :"gentle logging".
It does keep one in shape for other fun. Just one way to get the 6-8 cords/year.

Did some everyone's loved cookie cutting

But i did those for a reason, my mom been begging me for a long time to make 'cookies' for his garden walkway.
Dry spruce aint the perfect choice but i'll just soak em in linseed oil and hopefully they'll last a year or two.

Obviously in the future i'd like to get some hardwood, but i aint taking a healthy tree down for some cookies, hence i'm not taking any healthy trees down at all.

The reason I am laughing,my cheap FIL wanted me to cut down a red oak when I bought my sawmill so I could give him some blocks of wood for his camper trailer.

. This is the same guy that I can count on one hand how many times I have ate at his house. Depends which way the money is going.
