How do you clamp the last 1x6 with the camp on the lt28. I had a lt15 before and think I like the clamp it had better this style of clamp is so close to the deck that the locking chain hits the saw head and you can't pass over it . other wise I really like this saw with the power feed so I wondering how do you deal with your saw. Thanks Randy

I have been able to "finagle" the chain so the head will pass by when cutting that last board.  Takes a little bit of trial and error to figure out which way to lay the chain.  I'll try to remember to take a pic when I start sawing again.  Still waiting on snow to get gone around the mill.

Try putting a small scrap of wood between the clamp and your last 1x6 to space the cam clamp's arm so that it does not have to rest on top of a bed rail.

and hook the chain from the bottom.

We have had trouble with not clamping and having the board shift and mess up the cut this mostly with lighter spruce and scotch pine. any how we would put a 1x6 down flat and clamp on that and it works good that's what we did on the lt15 when edging one or two boards that gives extra support also.  We are starting to get used to cutting on the lt28 so that helps. On our lt-28, prior to selling it, we would set the minimum cut to 7/8".  As long as the clamp was in the lowest position and the chain was not proud we could saw down to the bed without worrying about hitting any metal. The LT-28 will crank out the bf if you get in the groove with it.  When we built a good log deck production went way up.  I regret getting rid of it quite often.

Woodmizer makes a great mill this is #3 for me the other two were lt15 this one has the power feed and that helps with the bf. I think we have the clamp problem fixed

You don't need the chain on the clamp for the last cuts. Just pull it over and clamp the cant. It will hold without the chain.
