Ever hear tell of..............
« on: May 11, 2019, 02:57:36 PM »
......Stuckie, the mummified dog? He somehow got stuck in a chestnut oak when hunting on his own. Probably in the 60's. He was discovered by loggers in the 1980's.

He resides at the Southern Forest World museum at Waycross, GA.

I remember reading about it some time back. I bet that was one arrogant raccoon that led him into the death trap.

Chestnut oaks do not grow in South Georgia.  Quercus montana.  Swamp Chestnut Oaks do.  Quercus michauxii, also called cow oak.
