NEW WOOD-MIZER 7/47 BLADES (VIDEO)
« on: October 15, 2019, 12:04:48 PM »
Here is the video showing a few cuts being made with the new Wood-Mizer 7/47 blades.

I am running the 7/47 1 1/4 blades @.055 thickness on a Diesel Woodmizer LT40 Wide head. Also to note I think after making a few cuts I could probably push them harder than I did. Also keep in mind if you are familiar with my videos I am not the fastest operator around, trying to run 3 to 4 cameras while sawing maxes out my span of control at the sawmill.  In conclusion these blades are sharp and cut perfectly at the speed I was running my 40.  The only remaining question is sharpness, I am heading out to finish up that red oak today and will do another video which hopefully will show how long the blade last before going dull.

Thats a very useful video, good job.  The band certainly seems to leave a very nice finish and cuts at a good speed.  I guess Ill have to call WM and get a few to try out.  Thanks for the info.

FF member Mike Dillon came over today with some pine logs to big for his mill.
We slabed them both the second log I used a 747 band cut flat and fast.

@Bruno of NH , i run the same 38hp gas, WIDE unit as you.

I put a new 747, .055 blade on today and I was completely satisfied.

I slabbed Post Oak, 9/4, 25" to 33" wide and they were dead flat.  Not even the slightest wave even going through the wide, crotch parts.

Used one blade on approx 650bf.......Mostly Post Oak, and a couple Water Oak and a SG.  I can't wait to try them on some WIDE Pecan logs.  That will be the test for me.

I've been running Turbo 7 and 4 in .045 and they are fine, BUT, I will be buying more 747's / .055.

Very Happy!
