WoodMizer Board Guide Mounting Location.
« on: November 07, 2019, 06:08:20 PM »
I am in the process of modifying and installing the Wood-Mizer LT70 board return guide fingers on my LT40 Super-wide.   I need to relocate the mounting point of the horizontal bar the holds the fingers so they are aligned properly on my mill.   What I need to know from those that have the return guide is where does the end finger hang in relation to the rail the mill head travels on?    Also, where do the bottoms of the fingers hang in relation to the blade?

I made my own. I made it so the fingers are about an inch below the blade.
My original design was like woodmizers.
I redid it with roller chain. It's much lighter.
Doesn't make any noise and is "see" through.

The inside of the left most finger is flush with the side supports.

You may have to weld the main "T"  tube off center since you have a wide mill. And put some extra weight on one side just to keep it balanced so it isn't pulling down on one side more than the other.

If you have any questions pm me I'll give you my cell. Or you can get my number off my website.

The current WooodMizer made unit is made off centered but it is the wrong direction.   I've already cut it apart and will be welding it back together to be off centered the other direction, the correct amount.
