Time to replace the bar on my 362  Have used the Rollomatic E Standard with a 33RS 72 chain in the past.  Any good reason to move up to the Super E?

How much are you cutting and what species? The Super E is heavier and somewhat more expensive but under heavy use will last longer. It also has the replaceable tip. If you are cutting for your own use it probably wouldn't pay.

Oak, 2 or 3 trees per weekend  through the winter when ground is frozen enough for the tractor not to trash it (been muddy this year).  I use the 362 for felling and bucking saw logs and large diameter fire wood, then shift to smaller saw for tops.  Have had the saw about 8 years and this is the second standard bar to replace.  Not worried about the extra $20 if it is tougher and can use the same chain (which I believe it can).

The ES should be tougher, and the larger nose will make boring easier if you do that. If you wanted to spend more money, the ES Light should be a similar weight to the E, maybe a bit lighter.

I prefer the ES, but have a bunch of E bars.

Really hard to wear out a bar unless you abuse it.

You can true the rails good as new with a vertical belt sander, then dress/smooth/deburr the rails using a draw file.

Only reasons I'd chuck a bar are:  grooves are worn too wide or too shallow for chain drivers, tip is shot (E bars), very uneven wear near tip or mount ends.

The tip was shot, that is the sprocket froze up then broke free when I moved the chain by hand.  While it had seemed a bit sloppy lately it could be that I pinched the tip a couple weeks ago when cutting free a good sized oak blow down.  Wanted to go a little deeper before setting a wedge and the tree sagged a pinched.

Piked up a new bar yesterday.  Was planning to get the super but looking closely at the label the ones they had were .063 width slot so went with the standard which had the .050 slot which fits my chains.
