For those of you who operate DH kilns, particularly the smaller ones, how often do you access the interior of the kiln during drying? Here's why I ask. Just bought a ebac ld800 and plan to use it for small loads (200-500 bdft) at a time. Door seals always seem to a bit of a struggle (I built and ran a VT style solar kiln for a few years). I'll be side loading the lumber with a forklift.

Does it make any sense to build a platform, then the sides and top as a single unit. I can lift the entire assembly off the platform. Garage door seals or similar on the platform to create the seal when the top/sides are set down on it. There can be a small hatch for sample boards or sticking a moisture meter in there to check. Does this cause more problems than it solves?
