Hello guys, I've got a husqvarna 353 that leaks fuel bad when it's laying on its side and I'm fueling it up.  I haven't dug into it much yet.  Is there a tank vent or something that could be causing this?

Thanks

There is a tank vent but another possibility is that you have a cracking the tank where the anti-vibe spring mount is.

I had 353 before and it did leak a little from the vent when filling it up.

How old is the saw?
My 346XP started leaking fuel when it was about 8 years old.  It was the fuel lines.
I had to replace the fuel pick up line, the purge bulb line, and the tank vent line if I recall.

My bet is tank vent. It's on the clutch side of the tank. If you pop the av mounts loose and take the handlebar off you can probably see it. It could have failed, sometimes they fall out. Sometimes the tank itself seems to have swelled and even a new one won't fit without some sealant or something.

If it is the tank vent, you can push it out from the fuel fill port.
