When I see one of these adds I have to look at their sells history.  He's sold 613 items with a 99.5% positive feedback, and it's all computer parts ranging in price from $5 to $35.  No bearing on anything, I just find it interesting sometimes that the really high % rate is normally a bunch of cheap stuff and the occassional high-to good to be true kind of stuff.
$400,000 for 400 trees. At 10% down thats $40,000 up front, then he wants you to carry crop insurance for 10 years with him as the payee. ???
I'd like to know how much land these trees are on.  That is, are they 5' apart or are they 30' apart,  WAIT A MINUTE I not buying the land am I?  I'm just buying the trees! :o  If I bought 40 acres at $3,000 an acre and then spent $20/ tree that would be $200,000.  I would have to wait an extra 7 to 9 years but with inflation wouldn't my trees be worth that much more? ::)

Another Walnut tree story.

Yesterday a lady called me about a "HUGE" (her words) Black Walnut in her yard.  She wants it gone, she wanted me to pay her for the oppertunity to cut her tree down for her.  Someone told her this woods is worth a lot of money.  There are power lines, city street, house and fence all with in stricking distance of this tree.

As usuall, I declined her offer.  I did tell her that once she gets this beast on the ground I will come in and haul the logs out for no charge.  I offered the names and phone numbers of my tree service buddys. ;)

City folks. ::)

Hum, I wonder if the silver maples I planted this spring will someday out run my 401(k)...

maybe I should plant some Birch so i can sell the bark to folks and tell them it make for some good home brewed beer.

Warminster PA, not quite hell, but it is a local phone call. SUPPORT THE TROOPS!

Nope, you got that birch thing all wrong.  I remember reading a recipe by Ewell Gibbons - the Grape-Nuts guy.  He had a recipe for alcholic birch beer.  But you needed the sap, not the bark.

So, what you need is a plantation of black birch trees.  They really give off the sap in the spring.  You could tap them and brew lots of beer.  Or better yet, sell the rights to tap the sap.   :(
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
