Wasn't train related because he'd make out like a hound dog in between the harmonica sound.  ffcool Driving me nuts that I can't remember who.

That Van Morrison instrumental is definitely different.  :wacky:
I've never heard hootin' like that between harmonica blasts (and I've heard thousands of songs).
Thought for a minute there was some big machine rumbling behind him, until I recognized it as a timpani drum. ffcheesy

I found it. It was Wayne Raney's version of 'Fox Chase'. Recorded in the late 40's.  The song's title refers to Fox Chase, a neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Just when I think that the music of the younger generations is meh or worse, I get a video like this.

Shihad, Home Again - Live

Shihad have been a big part of the NZ music scene for the last 36 years, 10 Albums, and have finally decided to retire. First show of their final tour was in New Plymouth, at the outdoor Bowl of Brooklands, in the main city park. First time over all those years they had played there.

We got there early as I wanted to see the 2nd band on the bill, Elemnop, who didn't disappoint. Couple of the mid bands were a bit blah, but you could tell folks there there to see Shihad.

Pic the band posted from the stage for the "turn on your phone lights and dance along" bit.

Rock the Bowl.jpg

Anyway, it was a well run all ages event with a decent crowd. New Plymouth is a bit of the beaten track, and the venue isn't huge. so hard to attract big acts.
Weekend warrior, Peterson JP test pilot, Dolmar 7900 and Stihl MS310 saws and  the usual collection of power tools :)

The Tommy video was real good, it reminded me of one I watched a while ago that was done during something called Porch fest in Quebec. I thought they did a good job on The real Me.

Last time I saw a large crowd trying to do the Macarena was back in 1998 when the high school I went to rented an arena for an afternoon.  200+ teens on skates, and a few without, crowding the red line (center ice for those who don't know hockey terms) dancing to this one.

The faces on some of the people in the crowd in this one are great.

I found a cassette tape in a box and played it yesterday.
The label has Dec 1989 on it and the people on the radio mentioned the Berlin Wall coming down.
It has Christmas and country music recorded off the radio.
This song grabbed me. Maybe it is more relevant today than in 1989?

Just the other day I had to make up a playlist in Spotify of Willie and Jennings songs. He's a tough old coot.  :sunny:

Read today that Brian Wilson has passed away at 82, original member of the Beach Boys. One of the most creative musicians of his time, bringing uniquely original sounds and harmony to pop rock. May his music live on.

Sly Stone just died as well. Not my style, but still a musical ground breaker. I think he was 82 as well.
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

Yup, I had heard he passed also. Not my cup of tea either, but if I had to pick one of his hits "Everyday People" has a fun groove to it.
