Do any of you guys run them? Sugihara Light, my stihl guy seems to be getting a little high on bars making me want to shop around. Just put 172.75 in a 20inch bar and a 8tooth sprocket.

Sugis have a good rep, and I've wanted to try one on my smaller saws, but haven't gotten to it. Your dealer sounds way high on bars. Last Stihl bar I got was a 20" ES Light, and it cost me $100. A rim was < $10. It's been a bit more than a year, and perhaps inflation is worse than I think, but your dealer seems out of line. Might be worth stopping in other places when you see a Stihl sign, and see what they're selling for.

Thanks for the reply, havent had to buy any bars for the 461 s in awhile ,i will probably get a couple of the Sugiharas and maby a couple of the Tsumuras and try them out.  i guess with only one saw shop in a area the guy prices what he wants.

I'm also interested in this topic, need a new 20" bar and the stihl lights are very expensive

I've ran the Sugihara light bars in 32" range for years the only issue I've had is a tip, the rails never wear on them. All of that said they are heavier then my 32" light weight Stihl and they used to be more money then the Stihl bars are, last Stihl light weight 36 was under 140 last Sugihara I saw was getting close to Cannon territory. They are a great bar that will out last a power head in commercial settings.
