The only reason it was warmer in town was because of the parking lot.
We went for a ride, but never looked at the temp. It was much cooler today, maybe 70.
Not even 70 tomorrow.

Yeah, saw some video over the weekend and some people where driving the roads with flames pretty much swat'n the road.

Right now it's 81 .Although the crops, corn etc is coming up good a little rain would help things .All I need to be concerned about is couple of raised beds not 600 acres of crops .My goodness can you imagine the amount of water that would take .Over the time of growing it would suck Lake Erie down to the size of a farm pond .

SwampDonkey

Yeah for sure. :D :D  I do water (creek water) the garden if we have a dry summer, so far been an inch a week the last 3 weeks.

82F here now, suppose to get to 86F by 4:00 pm. We have rain coming the end of the week and the temp is going to fall to the 50's for highs. :D

I put in 7 hrs on the saw swinging, that's good enough when it's 80F plus. The rest of the cutting on the current strip is shorter and no thicker so will cut a little faster. This morning was tall aspen, but not thick. Cut more pin cherry and maple clumps than anything. Them clumps grow like apple trees so the mill wants them mowed down if a nice popple near them, lots of them to leave. Lots of fir around to.

The Halifax area fire is over 2000 acres in size and has destroyed 150 homes and 50 other structures as of this morning. 16,000 evacuated.

617 acre fire near St Andrews, NB. Started from an ATV fire. 1 house lost but evacuees can return home now. The fire is still active and out of control but not near those homes.

92F here now. I watered what little garden I seeded in so far, carrots and beats are up and onions are green. No parsnip up yet, but I see signs.

In doing the watering I discovered a moose walked through and stepped over the ground hog fence without disturbing it. :D I think he was around the apple trees, but the limbs are up quite high on those ones. I had them at the apple trees before.

May 1st we had over 2 feet of fresh snow, today May 31st it hit a record 96° and no precip in over 2 weeks. Grass is brown and crispy, oats haven't even sprouted yet. 10 day forecast doesn't look promising. Looking like a repeat of 2021 where we barely had a hay crop and lots of cattle sold off.

Al_Smith

I had to turn on the AC today .It got a tad too warm for Mrs. Smith ( we aren't married, she's a widow ).Set it at 76,cool enough . I like 80 plus weather but many do not .

SwampDonkey

I do not! The room temperature with the A/C on was 70F. Al would be freezing. :D

The bottom is going to fall out from under that heat by Saturday with a high of 58 or colder. Be frost Sunday morning. :D

Looks like 90 today then 85 tomorrow and that's it for about a week. The clouds move in and stay and then showers for just about a full week.

Yes, looks like a cold front tonight and rain and showers for the next week and cool. I see some low 30's for the weekend mornings.

82F now headed to 92F this afternoon. Humidity is only 43%, been a dry heat.

I've never seen it above 93F here in all the years I've been here, and I've seen a few 90's over the years. May 90's is more common the last 10 years, don't remember seeing them before July 30+ years ago. We still get a day or two in the 60's in July. My grandfather would have the heater on in the truck when we would be driving to our trout fishing spots in more remote areas. I've seen frost in the mornings and 90F by supper out in the boonies. This was 40+ years ago, July cold front. Back 2009-2012 it rained every 3 or 4 days a week all summer and fall. 2012 was so wet farmers couldn't hardly spray or hoe potatoes, fields were a greasy mess. I had a friend of mine salmon fishing on the Renous, and we stayed on an old saw mill site in a  tent. It was cold in the mornings (July), we had to run the truck at 5:00 am to warm up, mighty frosty. He said how the heck did you find this place, freezing cold as night and hot enough to fry bacon in the afternoon. :D Remote New Brunswick is not all that remote, nothing like northern Ontario. You'd never be more than 30 miles to a house in any direction, small province. But there's a reason those places aren't settled , an apple tree would probably not survive or rarely bare fruit. ;D

Been a relatively warmish to hot week. No rain, quite dry considering. Starting to cool a bit tomorrow and the precip potential starts to climb from mid-day on through the weekend into next week with temps dropping. I have what might be my first 'show' on Sunday and I have been getting stuff down and staged at the shop door for loading on Saturday evening. But now they have a 60% chance of rain Saturday and 30% on Sunday. I have some things to buy to finish out the 'booth' such as a table, brochure holders, price tags, and such like that. I am wondering if I should hold off on the purchases now. If it rains, the show is a no-go. I have no plans for any other shows at this point, none of the ones that meet my needs are advertising for vendors yet and some have not re-opened since COVID.

Ayuh, hot for sure today, 90 F. Some moderate rain in the forecast will help
most everything growing. Overall cant complain.

I have a friend that runs the heater too the same way.  ::)  He was like that in his late 20's. I'd be driving and he would tell me to roll up that DanG window.
I stayed in Bar Harbor, on the coast, for 2 summers. Freezing cold at night and cook bacon in the afternoon is just about right.
Ayup, it was a hot one today.
Get those ace peppers in yesterday. They like the heat.

Good heavens it's suppossed to hit 91 today .This is working backwards .Hot on the eastern parts of Canada, NE parts of the USA then going south the next day,odd indeed .

SwampDonkey

Afternoon temperature here is 68F so far. Was 72F this morning at 4:00 am. A cooling off breeze out there from the NE. Going down in the low 40's tonight. Looks like some moderate to heavy rain coming later today. The sky is darkening up. Looks like 50's and 60's for the next week. And wet into Wednesday. :)

70 or so at dawn today, shot up to over 90 in the early afternoon and it was a bear to work in. Not fun at all. and I had to do it in spurts, then the clouds came in and allowed some easy work for a bit, then sun again and blistering. I got the truck washed and the toolbox out of the back, one of the tasks on today's list. After that the rain came in, slow at first, but the temp dropped 30° by dinner time. We got some steady downpour for a while. Good for the garden, I didn't have to water tonight. Should be cooler the next few days, better working weather..

Good day to make some rhubarb juice. I went and cut 4 gallons and set them in water for later. 43F now and we had 1/4" rain over night.
