Not just any staircase. This one is carved inside a 45,000 year old kauri log. The original building was built around it, but they have been renovating, and had to move it. It's about 16 tons of solid wood, and probably rather valuable wood at that.

Cool! That staircase was on the back cover of Fine WoodWorking when it was installed, glad to see they preserved it in the remodel  :).
