FYI. Looks like the 2024 Dodge heavy duty trucks are about the same as the 23 with minimal changes. The towing capacity is up to 37,090lbs. Analog gauges are going to be digital. And on the special order now I was told it was going to be a 24 model

Anybody have a 2023 Ford 450 Limited likes or dislikes.

The Ram 3500 and Ford 450 Limited Dually are about the same loaded. Actually the Ram is several thousand more. Prices are like a Lambo

I paid 35,800.00 for my 2004 Dodge Dually April of that year.   They agreed to put leather in it for that price.   It was 40 grand with tax and extended warranty.  There was a note in my mailbox a few weeks to call this guy if I was interested in selling.

Looks like a great deal, no charge for the front license plate bracket.  ::)

Moose, I have a 2006 Dodge dually I want to go look at, the asking price is still $25k with 155k miles🤷
Too many irons in the fire

I only put about 1500 miles on it last year.

I don't know how people are going to afford trucks anymore.
I bought my land , septic , artesian well and built my house for 100 thousand

They are definitely crazy!

After a few phone conversations with a guy I knew that's a salesman. They want my truck.  Then several texts and pictures. Manager wants it bad after the pictures and miles. But the games started of not nailing down a number and asking my number. Just give me the best price on the truck without a trade.  Last text after that was we are selling orders at MSRP. We are done ✅!!! Not going to happen there.

Walnut Beast

Impressive. 350 miles on standard batteries. 500 miles on optional batteries. 14,000 towing. Ram electric 1500 2024

When did it become the norm for folks to have a car/truck payment similar to a mortgage payment?  To each there own, I'd love a new(er) truck, but struggle to justify those kind of numbers on a truck, unless it's got a logo on the door and it's making me or my business money. Not trying to be critical, just hard for me to grasp.

Even with a logo on the side of it seems hard to have that truck pay for itself at those prices.
I've always had used vehicles and fortunately had good luck with most all of them. The upcharge for the diesel engine is more than I've paid for all but one of my pickups.
I don't begrudge anyone for getting a new truck but it's not for me, these prices are more than I can stomach.

I plan to keep my 2014 GMC 1500 til I croak.
Only 71 K on it, I keep getting mail from the local Chevy dealer that they really want my truck.
Just another sales pitch.
Prices are crazy for new.

As long as there are buyers at MSRP, why discount? Heck, even pad it a little more for 'market conditions'.

My old truck is an 02 Silverado 4X with 98,000 and my 'newer' truck is an 04 Sierra 1500 2X with 230K. Both serve me well and I don't even need a step stool to get in them! Of course I have to drive them myself and can't watch movies going down the road unless I use my old cell phone.

What I do not understand...... Economy doing so poorly government has to hand out trillions. So how can so many people need so many new trucks/sawmills as to actually create a shortage?

Sixacresand

The high truck prices are very discouraging.  I feel for the younger generations who have no choice but to pay it.

F350 here is a 99, that's ancient due to rust issues in our area. Would love to replace with something like a 4x4 Mitsubishi fuso or thereabouts... Still big dollars even used.

There is always a choice. Some just must have the fancy, shiny, new smell at all costs.

I just picked up a '99 Chevy 2500 box van in great condition, painted 3 years ago, new transmission 3,000 miles ago, 187K on the clock. Crank windows, vinyl seats and floor, sent it straight to the tire shop, 4 new tires, alignment, lube and oil I will have $8K into her.

It will pay for itself in two months.

'99 with 187k!!!  :o
Only went to the dump on Sundays.  :D
I just picked up a 2000 Toyota Tundra. But that had 300K on it.
But another motor 100K ago and it looks nice under it.

It's actually an '06, don't know why I said '99. Must have been thinking of the reefer truck I bought last year. That one is a retired Marva Maid milk truck with a DT 466 in it and under 300K, 14 HP Yanmar on the reefer itself. Crank windows also, paid $1K for her, couple of batteries and a lift pump for the reefer was all it needed.

Not having financed a vehicle in many years, I dont know how long you can finance for.
my feeling is that some folks dont look a the price, only what they can afford per month.

I keep both my F250s parked except when I need to haul bigger stuff. Save the miles so they last longer.

My little SUV is my everyday driver. Cheaper to drive and maintain also cheaper to replace. I pull a little 4x8' trailer around for hauling a lot of things the guys would drive a pickup for.

It's tight out there with dealers on special ordering. Wow 2k off 113k  from the world's largest Dodge dealer. The premium trucks are absolutely expensive but the inside of the top trim packages of Dodge trucks have been and are still are just as nice as a Benz. And you can tow some serious weight.

Pontoon boats are selling for 170, wakeboard boats for over 200, wake surf boats over 300, and people are buying them.  Not me.  A little lake house I sold in 1994 for 265 recently sold the day it went on the market for 825.

I like to buy new vehicles and drive them like I want them to last.  I made one not quite 40k payment for the '01 Duramax dually in November 2000, and it still pulls what I need to.  At this point, I think I'll probably put an engine and transmission in it whenever it needs one instead of buying another new truck.

Last truck payment was that Nov. going on 23 years ago.  It stays in a shed when I'm not driving it, gets parked in the shade when it's not parked in the shed, and doesn't go on the road when there is salt on it. 387,000 miles and the much maligned LB7 still runs good to me.

I would rather not have a sunroof, so wouldn't want to pay 1100 bucks for one.

Later this week or possibly next week I'll retrieve my spare key fob for the Pavement Princess. 2015 Laramie eco diesel 21k miles. I liked the Limited I test drove but the sales weasel started playing silly games about financing. Um, err no

Been looking at used robot milkers, found one that I am interested in so I called the closest dealer to me to discuss support services. He calls me back a bit later with the "you know, we were just talking about what you want to do and you should look at new, we can finance at 1.5 pct for 18 months", he started to read me a quote and before long it was over $200K and climbing.

Yea, that 1.5 pct payment for 18 months sure will make me buy new...

They are just gouging! WB how about a truck that isn't as nice as a Benz inside? You prob can't even buy one still. It took me over a year to buy a (new) small truck because used were selling for as much as new and you just could not buy one that wasn't max options for 20k more. A dealer out of state got 5x and gone the next day, I was mad it had running boards and the $1000 back seat I don't need!!

They are taking us all for a ride and the seats are nice right now but maybe not long
