Old Greenhorn

Weird weather today, the high for today was 52° at midnight, then it dropped into 40's and the daylight high was 45. Dry and very windy, the rain we got Sunday overnight didn't amount to .1", brush fire popping up all over, some are 50o acres up to a couple thousand. People are ignoring the bans and warnings and still using burn barrels or leaving burn piles unattended overnight which is all illegal now. The winds today are hanging between 15 and 25MPH which does a real number on a brush fire. Sunnay and clear all day here. No rain in the forecast yet.

We got to 42°, but 33° now with the wind. We had a rain/snow mix here, not adding up to more than 4/10" rain in the gauge.  Going to be windy tomorrow to. Power flickered here 2 hrs ago. Cleared out before dark here, sunny for Wednesday and Thursday.

I noticed when the excavator was stumping, when he sprung out the roots the dust was flying, so only greasy on top, dry down in. He removed an old barn and is stumping out an old fence line.

Managed to go for a walk this afternoon, but got hit off and on with snow squalls, sun between. Weird weather. Going to feel like early winter tomorrow, frozen ground most of the day, high of 32°.

24°, windy and clear out. Feels like winter with cement under your feet. Built up the fires this morning.

The shop was 62° this morning with 58% RH and that was with a fire from yesterday morning, none all afternoon nor over night.

Lots of wet drizzly weather, nice days scattered in. Just odd how dry the middle / end of summer got.Thankful for some moisture though.   This would be a lot of snow if it came that way. Next week I fear the white stuff arriving.

22° this morning and clear skies. Another, not even 40° day. Nasty mix coming in tomorrow.

Glad you guys have a very nice indoor workspace Jim!

26° here this morning and the shop dropped to 58 overnight but back up to 65 now and gaining. High for today is supposed he be low 40's, but the wind is finally subsiding after 3-4 days of pretty strong stuff. With the sunshine I should be fairly comfortable working at the mill a little later this morning.

Was hovering around 32 to 33 most of the day Friday. then got to 36 in the evening and over night and this morning. Now it's about 40° and not going to get much warmer here today. We had no wintery mix at all Friday, was all rain. It was a wonder we never had wet snow. Showery today.

36° yesterday morning and got to 44°, there was a constant shower off to the west of me in Maine and on and off over Mars Hill. Never even had a sprinkle on this side of the line.

36° this morning again, cloudy. The guessers said yesterday that the sun was coming out today. This morning I'm seeing rain/snow mix on the weather forecast for later and maybe 42°. Yup, it's November, mostly cloudy with rain or snow now and again.  ffcheesy ffcheesy

The dirt road up to the end of the community is now greasy snot. And tramped to death by deer and bear hunters. I ask, 'see any critters? Them, 'Nope, nothing.' I said, 'you missed your deer.' Them, 'Not after deer, we're bear hunting.' I said, 'this place was tramped to death last fall by bear. I seen one this fall myself.'

Brother seen doe and big buck by his place recently. A place they travel up through. No one else seen any bucks so far.

Stayed dry here yesterday, not even a sprinkle. So much for that forecast.  ffcheesy Sun was out a couple times, but mostly clouds and a breeze, which is still blowing. Almost 40° this morning, but not going to get much warmer, maybe 5° warmer. Might see peeks of sun today again.

Only if it's on the ground.
I will cut trees down and go back and limb the trees out when it's dark. I have a head lamp that shines where I look.
I am cutting mostly ewp that broke off because of a wind storm.
I will be cutting hardwood next week, I hope. Most of them trees are not much more then a foot across.

Well the colder trend seems to be settling in, but nothing severe, We have snow in the forecast here for Friday and maybe tomorrow night. Just a few inches here, but as with the early snows it's elevation dependent, so maybe a foot up by Barge, just about a hour and 1,500 feet in elevation form me. We'll get what we get, as we always do, and no, I am not hooking up my plow for this one. ffcheesy
Calling for 30's overnight most days now and no 60's in the forecast anymore. So we are getting into what we call winter these days, but it feels more like fall to me. :wink_2:
