72° here yesterday. The highest temp for Oct 1978 here was 64°, on today's date. We actually had 5 snow days that month, but trace amounts and only about 2" of rain all month. In 2008 we had 16" of snow by the end of November. And we had one of those 70's spells in late October. That winter 2007-2008, was the snowiest and coldest on record. We were already into single digit lows in November.

Yes, for some reason today is suppose to be around 70°, and it's a little breezy. 48° here this morning as well. Going to turn overcast. Doesn't look like any rain coming in this cold front tomorrow. Hasn't even been 2" rain all month. Might see showers Saturday, but not looking like much. I think it was October 2000 after the potato harvest, I cut and skid hardwood logs out into the field. Dust was flying like July. It was into a field that often is wet with water that late, where the geese come. Dry as a bone.

54° here also. We had a shower earlier, but I think that is it, suppose to see some sun later in the day. Another cold front Saturday to keep temps down. Don't see anything warmer than upper 50's here for the next week, lots of 40's.

I'm up on the edge of the tundra remember. A lot of those warm air masses don't get up here with wind blowing off James Bay.   :wink_2:

Jetstream is south of me right now and snow on the steps of the St Lawrence, across from Rivier De Loup, Quebec. It's 3 hrs away from me, but so isn't Moncton, NB. I've probably been up there as many times as I've been to Moncton.

32° here as well, maybe 45° for the high. Sunny start here, with a passing sprinkle later with a cold front. Sunny for a couple days after that before another disturbance.

We got our first SNOW during the night, not much, just a "heavy" trace.

The roofs are covered and more around the edges of the yard where the grass is taller!

We're supposed to have a "warm-up" in the middle of the week, that'll be a good time to put the chains and the snow pusher on the tractor in prep for what we're going to end up with between now and Spring!

It's been dry up here for 2-1/2 months. I bet we never had more than 3" rain. Not anything at all off the hurricanes. Still a trace of snow on the wood pile and north side of buildings. It's still only 35° out.

All a matter of perspective.  :uhoh: I had it 93° in the shop at one point, with windows open. Gonna have to cut back on the feed rate to the stove.  And that is just aspen and spruce, 3 - 20" pieces, each cut in two with the dandy battery pruning saw, similar to Jeff's. ffcheesy

swamp, are you sure.  what is it with the stick of wood and all the windows open and it is 20 below outside, and you and your family are running around naked making rugs on a loom?  and it is 100 degrees in your house.  And you make 20 quarts of pasta sauce with one tomato?  Are you sure, or are you pulling our legs?   :snowball:   :uhoh:   :huh?   ffsmiley ffsmiley ffsmiley   ffcheesy

So far it don't take much wood to heat the shop, that is for sure. Kinda feels like I'm wasting wood, so I'm cutting back to a 'start-up' fire and refraining from adding additional wood.  ffcheesy Yeah, I keep the windows open a little to exchange the air while the fire is glowing.  ffsmiley

40° here this morning and a SW wind. Rain or showers coming mid morning.
