Had 60 degrees here and then a storm came though and knocked out the electric and the temperature started dropping. Started up my stove for the first time. Supposed to get some snow and the temperature is going to stay in the 30's for a few days. Don't think much snow will stick here but calling for quite a bit in the higher mountains.

Dry here so far, overcast, 40°. I think rain coming tonight into Sunday, ending with some flurries Sunday. Could be more flurries with rain mix middle of next week. Who knows, they can't get the daily forecast let alone a week out.  ffcheesy ffcheesy

We are in our normal yo-yo weather.  36° forecast for Saturday morning and then 78° forecast for noon Monday.  38° again for next Saturday morning.

Off and on rain which is also normal when our warm Gulf air contacts the Glacial air.

40 wind and rain here.
Quote from: thecfarm on November 20, 2024, 08:47:11 PMOnly if it's on the ground.
I will cut trees down and go back and limb the trees out when it's dark. I have a head lamp that shines where I look.
I am cutting mostly ewp that broke off because of a wind storm.
I will be cutting hardwood next week, I hope. Most of them trees are not much more then a foot across.
I don't know, For me when the sun goes down so does my saw.

42° here and windy. I'm still waiting for that 'rain likely' that was forecast. Not a drop here.

RAIN! We got RAIN! About 2" since it started yesterday early, just steady drizzle the entire time. They predicted snow around 4am today, but that didn't happen until 7:30 and although it is snowing, the ambient temp is 35° and the snow is just melting on impact. It's what I call 'safe snow' meaning it looks pretty coming down, but doesn't create more work for me. ffcheesy Now further west and up the hill it could be up to 10" of accumulation, no doubt. 1,500' seems to be a cutoff.

My local weather guesser said this was a tough one to forecast, they thought it would follow the normal swing up the cost which would take it to Maine and NB, but it got here and is now just doing a CCW rotation right over us, so this could hang in for a while.

Seems like 2 months since we've had measurable rain, but I'm not sure.

As we get closer to the expected rain based on radar, they keep pushing it out. I see some kind of drizzle in the hills west of here in Maine, but nothing has come across the line yet. It's like hanging over the Mesardis hills over there. Those hills are a rain catcher, many times it rains there all day and not a drop here.

Peter, the only daylight I get to work in, is on Sat and Sunday now.
I get home at just about 5:30, eat supper and I try to get out with my head lamp before 7, then try to get into the house by 9. Gives me about 2 hours a day, times 5.
I'd rather be outside with my headlamp, then inside the house.
Wife just had an operation, so I am inside now. But would like to sneak out for an hour.
Rained in the night, bright sun at times, then black clouds so far today.

When I left the house this am, it was raining and we were at 1.25in since Thurs am. We needed a good soaking. Hope the weather guesser is right with another .5in tonight

Light rain here too at this time.
Suppose to rain all night.
But only a 1/4 of rain.

Well we are at nearly 2.5" of [recip since it started yesterday. The grass is barely white and it was really snowing hard at around 7pm, but then it tapered off and is warm enough to be melting. 33 here now. But we really needed the rain. Now in every direction around us they have snow ranging from zero to 9" and to the northwest they have well over that. The town I am doing the show in next week had about 6 inches of heavy wet stuff this morning and no power.
The were hundreds or vehicle accidents in the higher passes and hills in our county all day, some within just 10 miles of us, but nothing much here. This was all elevation dependent.

Never rained over night here, probably done before 8:00 pm. Wind has slowed down. 40°

Looks like rain might start again at day break, but I see no fog on Mars Hill, not obscuring the lights up there. Doesn't look to me the rain is going to move the creek depths any. The creek by the woodlot is at least 16" low and no ephemerals in the woods at all where there should be.

At sundown, I come in and then look to see what I have to eat. Sometimes, I forget to go to the store. ffcheesy
So I'll burn something and try to eat it. ffcheesy

No rain now, that didn't amount to much. Radar showing it is raining, but I'm not seeing it.  :uhoh:
