Congrats Smakman on your mill!  8) 8)  After you get it all home, set up and make a little sawdust, you will never again question whether or not you should have done this - you'll be asking yourself why you waited so long.  ;D ;D ;D

Already have a job to do!   I have a fellow who wants about 100 6X6 ERC cants cut into 4/4 boards.  Should be a simple job, just what I need to start learning on!

If you had to go and buy all new parts from the shop, and valued your time out at $25 hr, then probably not.
If you have some angle iron, an engine, trailer axles and a stash of assorted treasure laying around, and have more time than cash.. then yes.

Several members have built their own mills, from kits, plans and their own ideas and reckon they have saved a heap of $$s. But I would say you have to be mechanically inclined to do it.

Cheers

Well, got it home safe and sound.  Placed and leveled it today.  I am going in the morning to pick up some new blades and a few other odds and ends, and I plan on starting to get familiar with the machine tomorrow afternoon.....meaning make sawdust!
