good day all,
so new to this group, new to sawmills,
just got a woodland lm130 with 1 extension , book says it cuts 16'5 inches.
i am asking if anyone has the same saw and how long of a beam i would need for this.
my plan is to have it on a 6x6 treated beam.  looking through manual I can not find how long of beam i would need. the pictures show the feet set back a few inchs from end of rail. i would think i need something 4 or 5 foot longer than the 16'5 ?
just dont want to buy more than i need.

also bought 10 blades, and thinking i'll go through these pretty quick, (mostly hard wood) does anyone know if they make carbide blades for this saw or a good quality blades.
thanks in advance

I can't help with the length of beam you need, but I do know that Cook's and probably WoodMizer can provide blades for your mill. There are probably more options than that and I bet a Google search will give you many options.
Cook's AC3667t, Cat Claw sharpener, Dual tooth setter, and Band Roller, Kubota B26 TLB, Takeuchi TB260C

The mills with the extension measurements diagrams are available on the website.

The mill is 19' 8" (236 inches) from end to end, so you want to have 20' minimum.

Folks sell carbide blades but you might need to have them custom made for the HM130 as the market for them is not sizeable.

Blade recommendation threads are a dime a dozen on the forum.  Just use the search engine.

Welcome to the forum.
You will need a Logrite cantdog or peavey. They are a sponsor on the bottom of the page and made in the USA!!!!
I would also put a roof over the head of the mill when you get sawing. Just a small building to keep the weather off the motor will do it.
What's all the lumber going to be used for.?

Hi Ruston . I have a Woodland Mills HM 130 Max and I built a 20 foot base made from 6x6 treated spruce. It fit the mill just right . Remember to cap your base with regular untreated wood as the treated wood will react badly with the finish on your sawmill rails . Another thing I would say would be  to watch your width . If your want your long log supports to slide down without hitting your base you have to plan exactly how wide your base is compared to the width of the sawmill rails. If you don't get it right you will be chiseling a groove for each long log support. Ask me how I know this :-) .  According to the specs your mill is  236-11/16" long so 240 " is perfect. IMHO of course .
Cheers.

well i hope i figured out how to respond ...... what will wood be used for... well everything. that is , i bought heavy wooded property in ozarks ( arkansas) a few year ago and just moved here from mn about month ago. built a shop with store bought lumber, and now finishing the inside. hating the price of lumber , i have a long ways to go, house, more out building, wood work (hobbies), etc. i have lots of trees laying on ground that i want to saw up for the projects i mention above. once I get inside of shop done will have a place to store and dry . i guess right now i want to saw 2xs and 3/4 for shevling in shop. its all a mess here. everything i own is in shop 30x 40 and its full. so i,m finishing 1 inside wall at a time .... i just about got 1 wall done. want to saw some wood for shelves and storge to start making room. like i said its all a mess right now, im hoping this sawmill will work out

thanks... i will have to put this mill together to understand more of what you are saying.... im sure i will chiseling something .. i already bought green treated for base and yes since you mention it steel does react with green lumber, so i will add untreated on top. thanks
