I have a small project going on here at home and needed three 1X12's.  Nope I do not have a lumber stash, so this morning I asked my customer if he would sell me three 1X12's?  He said NO, but he would give me three.

I said OK, but remember that it is me that is in charge of scaling the lumber.  ffsmiley

It's good to have a source of materials for that occasional project!  ffsmiley

15 or so years ago I purchased a portable sawmill so I could mill my own lumber to build a big wooden boat... which hasn't been sawn yet.

Your story made me think of that and smile: it's strange how things turn out yes?
The quickest way to make a million dollars with a sawmill is to start with two million.

True, but my availability for proper lumber storage is still what it was 22 years ago.  I have a small stash of framing lumber in Marty's back yard, and I think that there are some 1X6's.  Anyway, I needed 1X12's and now have them.  ffsmiley
