JD 440B skidder winch

How do you remove the winch fill port. Mine has a large threaded plug, it looks like it has two tabs on the plug to unthread it. Anybody got any tricks? Thanks in advance.

It just threads out.. if real stuck hit one tab lightly with a hammer and chisel or such. Lefty loosey, righty tighty. Then slap some grease on threads when you put it back and get a flap of rubber to keep the weather off the winch in the future  :thumbsup:

If you are talking about a barrel "bung" type plug, usually an appropriately sized crescent wrench will work good.
Tip of top jaw hooks on one tab and back of top jaw against the other tab.
