40° this morning. Been mostly a dry week here, today was partly sunny, we got to 66° and not even a  sprinkle. We are suppose to get rain tomorrow beginning after midnight tonight. We'll see.  ffcheesy Looks like a couple warm days mid week, then a big cool down by Friday.

Not so nice here. It has rained solid since over night, over 2" so far today and we are at exactly 7.0" since Saturday.
About 3 days ago I cut a small trench by hand from the center of my swamp to help it bleed off into the creek. As of this morning it was still draining toward the creek, but all day the creek has been rising and by 4pm the creek was now backflowing through that cut into the swamp. The creek is getting to the point of going over it's banks. This will take a while to drain out, maybe a few weeks. But no worries, we have more rain coming in Tuesday. ffcheesy

I'd like to have some rain on that grass seed. The predictions didn't deliver much this week.

Well, the rain moved in over night. It's 42° this morning and not going to get much warmer all day.  Great for the frogs and grass seed, probably a few wet birds this morning though. Birds are singing as if it is a bright sunny day this morning.  :wacky:  Doesn't look like it is raining very hard here at the moment, almost none at all. Doesn't look to me to be much of a soaker so far. Barely a 1/4" so far.

We wound up with 2.26" of rain yesterday which petered out in the late evening. SO now over 7" in 7 days. Not much rain today as this very slow moving system is now showing some love to CFarm and SD. ffcheesy
But behind it there is cold movement and the winds are picking way up. Gusting just under 20mph and the temp is just at 51 now and not headed much higher. Mostly overcast, feels like a cold and windy October day.
As luck would have it, we leave for VT in a few minutes to attend a memorial service for my 1st cousin who passed back in January at 93. We will follow this front and likely catch up with the rain and stay in it until we turn around and head back home around 2-3pm. Might see some sun when we get home. Definitely not a pleasant day, but better than the last time we went over for a funeral and it was in the 20's with a 25mph steady wind on a hillside cemetery.

Not much rain here at all, going to be sunny Sunday and wind a howling. Cold today. 1/4" rain so far and doing nothing much right now, just that misty stuff that don't amount to beans. Dry all next week and warming up mid week.

Transplanted 32 pepper plants this morning.

We've been eating fiddlehead greens this week.

We had a steady rain all day.
The brook at the end of the road is high. It has flooded the meadow and it's at the edge of the road.
I have been talking about the rain every weekend, but it does not rain steady all day. It rains just about enough to keep things wet.
But today it rained!!!!
Sun tomorrow but only 60.

We've only had about 1/2" here in a month. They'll be farming here Monday morning, like they did all last week. Like dad used to say, you can't wait around all day because someone said it 'might' rain.

I here tippy this morning and I bet she has a groundhog that recently moved in. Got to keep the fox fed.  ffcool

44° on the porch and breezy. I'm going to check over the mower today and likely mow part of the lawn. Getting long in places. Yesterday they mowed the church lawn in the drizzle. Must be hard on a mower in wet grass, that would stick to the underside of the deck like crazy.

another beautiful sunny day, down to freezing last night, but going up to 15C or 60F today. Blackflies are out and hungry , it's screened bug jacket conditions. We can zip and unzip the head on these screened jackets, I wear out 1 every season. Put it on in the morning and take it off when the day is done.

Have you tried the insectshield jackets with a hoodie or is the headnet essential?

I got the mower serviced and went mowing. Felt almost like I was riding a snow sled with a winter suit on. I had my overalls on from working on the mower and they stayed on. Wind is kinda cool. Suppose to see 55°, but I bet it will take all day. Sun is out anyway. 46° right now.

Not me, I mowed in the sun and wind. :sunny:  I'm not that ambitious to mow in rain.  ffcheesy ffcheesy

Some have to work a 40 hour work week and don't have time when the sun is out.

I was mowing the lawn once and some one said the same thing about it being wet. But I was working a 40 week and working the greenhouse-veggie   business too. Mow when I can!!!

You still don't have to mow in the rain.  Skip a day, skip a week, doesn't bother me none.  I couldn't mow here on wet grass, all side hills. I'd need a 4-wheel drive tractor.  ffcheesy ffcheesy
