I have a Sears Craftsman 3.7/18, which uses a wallbro SDC carb. I was wondering if one of you fine gentlemen would be able to tell me what size are the screws holding the metering cover on.? Itty bitty SOB's...

I should have just grabbed one and brought it with me on my way to the hardware store right now, but I forgot to do that. I looked it up but the only thing I can find on it is it's called a "WA55 metering cover screw". Surely it's not some kind of one-off made by walbro, right.? There has to just be a size I can go buy at my hardware store or something correct.? Looks like coarse thread...M-0.5 coarse thread maybe.? I don't know if all bro uses metric or standard and I can't seem to find a description of that screw on any parts lists...

Also if anyone might have any pointers on setting that air fuel mixture on the aforementioned saw, they would be greatly appreciated. To start off I screwed it all the way in and then out one and a half turns

Tho I didn't buy a rebuild kit, I did just recently disassemble and clean out the carb real well. It is running way better, but the first and only time I've taken it out so far it ran like a champ for about 15 minutes and then I shut it down to do something else and when I went to restart it it wasn't wanting to stay running for very long. But then later when I got home I noticed this screw missing, So that may be my only problem.

Just FYI, when I had it apart I did inspect the fuel line and all the rubber pieces inside the carb and there does not seem to be any damage to any of those pieces. fuel line holds suction, gaskets are still soft and intact, etc. I did also read somewhere that these things don't like to run without a fuel filter, And it is good and in place on my unit.

TIA, friends.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but carb hardware is indeed rather specific and not likely to be found at the local hardware store. When I need something like that the solution is to dive into the junk carb box and find a willing donar.

They list two sizes 4-40 and 6-32 little short rascals .19" on most .You can do one of three things .Buy one at a time for $3.99 .Buy a box of 100 from Mcmaster -Carr for around $4 or grab one from another carb .I'm like Spike,I have box fulls of old carbs .
Some have washers ,again Mcmaster -Carr .If you cannot find something in Mc Master -Carr it will be very difficult to find .

x3 on the carb box. Best bet would be a new carb and save the old one for parts. Your saw will run a lot better with a new one as well  ffcool
