Happy Easter folks. As per normal while approaching a long weekend, I broke a velocity fuse on the loader cylinder. I must not have noticed right away, and lost a fair bit of hydraulic fluid. My WM dealer send me a couple gallons via courier but I need more. They are out of stock on the MV32 oil as called for.

Locally I can get AW32, but the MV32 is special order. Anyone encounter this? I'm hesitant to mix the two with the rather sophisticated hydraulic functions on the new 70. Any issues using the AW32?

Thanks.

MV32 is a premium, multi-viscosity version of AW32.  It flows better in extreme cold compared with standard AW32.

There should be several options from other manufacturers that are equivalent.
Peterson 10" WPF with 65' of track
Smith - Gallagher dedicated slabber
Tom's 3638D Baker band mill
and a mix of log handling heavy equipment.

This is something I have seen come up several times, the LT70 Super uses a very specific hydrauluc oil iirc. Guys say that the setworks will be off etc if you use a different oil, or maybe the head will creep? I don't remember for sure. If it is just a regular 70 that doesn't use a hydraulic motor on the lift, I would think any 32 weight hydraulic oil would be alright.

This is a Super, although I don't think there's any other option these days. I have engine driven hydraulic pumps (2) and a hydraulic cylinder to lift/lower the head.

I'm told by the dealer that the mill calls for this MV32 oil...a multi viscosity synthetic hydraulic fluid as I understand. I was able to find a pail of MV22, so a slightly thinner viscosity as compared to the 32. I opted for this to get me by as I'm 9-10 orders behind. I felt it was the second best option since it's snowing today...the lighter grade should suffice jut fine, I hope.
