Hey Ray!

Well, basically,  but not in these same words, she told me to quit being a weenie and tough it out. She looked me over and said my symtoms were worse because I was getting better. She said the hole seemed bigger because the swelling had gone down, and that it actually was now smaller. The Jaw problem, not being able to open my mouth or chew was being caused by muscle spasms due to an inflammation.  The other two locations are no longer sore.

She put me on a 6 day steroid regimen for the spasms in the jaw and That seems to be much better, maybe 50% in just the 2nd day.

As for the perforation. She says that will take 6 to 8 weeks to close, but if it doesn't she says Ill "just need another small surgery"    "just let it heal, I'll see you in 6 weeks.  I said the antibiotic is giving me diarrhea, she said "well quit taking it"  I said, you said I do not want to get an infection in the sinuses as you are quite susceptible to one due to the opening"  she says "well you are"

So, I'm now taking some probiotics. I do feel a bit embarrased for going in the grocery dairy section, not finding what I was looking for, and asking where the prophylactics were.

Well, you interacted with a real surgeon.  kind of no nonsence and restating the obvious you already may have known (redirecting and lowering your expectations).  So, you cannot kiss your wife, but you are buying protection?  .  I think the infection rate is low as long as the hole is open, the chances go up as it seals off.  As long as the ostium (normal opening) is open you are good. and steroids will help reduce swelling and edema to the area.  dental stuff is the worst.
