The price of fuel here in CA is killing me. So, I decided to try building an all-electric UTV. I'm currently sourcing a surplus Soviet reactor to power this baby. Right now, I'm running on extension cords.

On the east coast,  we would call that a Redneck windmill. Circle your house backing up fast with a long extension cord for power. Keeps the kids busy and beer cold 🍻.

So, the big fan is now installed in the back of the shop to provide positive air pressure (clean air) and help eliminate the very fine dust that is so hard to get rid of. The shop is going on 20 years old and it has grown from 2 sets of saw horses, sitting in the dirt, to its fifth expansion. The fan is variable speed and takes advantage of the building's natural draft tendencies with our prevailing winds. When the wind blows non-prevailing, I can actually now force clean air into my work space. At full tilt boogie, it will empty the air every 90 seconds given the volume of the building.

Dang I was hoping for a land based incarnation of the air boat. They are fairly common around here with our shallow rivers.

No, this was more of a fun post, especially about the power source (nuclear LOL). I needed the nimble side by side to get around to the back of the building in very tight quarters. One of the shop upgrades to make work easier, products better, and just to keep going. It is going on 20 years since I started with nothing but some sawhorses and an 18" chainsaw, picking up roadside downed trees, swatting powder post beetle and turning wood into various useful products. By the time I'm dead, I'll have the shop where I want it. LOL  ffcool
