Hello,

I bought a used Tigercat 720G fellerbuncher.  I have been having issues with the saw kicking on to full speed to cut.  It will engage but runs very slow.  If I bounce the head for a while it will finally engage at full speed.  It could be instance, 15 minutes, or 40 minutes of bouncing the head for it to fully engage.

There were three wires going to the solenoid that were cut when purchased but the seller used butt splices and got the cable back together. We have changed the solenoid for the cutter, but it is still having issues.

Does anyone have any suggestions to do to fix this problem permanently?

Thanks!

kiko

I have found with thus exact situation that the issue is in the pump.  The swash bearing have a plastic coating that wears out and cause leakage at the valve plate. sometimes it will catch and go.
Chased that for a while on the first one with that issue.
