Well, we have a Russel Ks, where Bob dole is from.  And Washington Ks is 45 minutes from my hometown of Concordia, Ks.  I sold insurance out of Washington, Ks when I was trying to earn money to go back to school, and interest rates were 21% variable rate, in the early 80s.  So, no homes being built!  A band I was in played in a diner where the young folks left kids in car seats on the booth table so they could dance, and the older folks would keep an eye out for the kids.

I played drums and had blond hair to my shoulder blades.  always neat and clean as my former army MP Dad would otherwise "offer" to cut it for me.  Our band has a country and a rock name.  I do not remember them now.  Old friend Glen played guitar by ear and Dan played piano the same.  we could take a request and play a sone for the first time having never rehearsed it, at a dance.  The good ol days!

Remember Bob Dole?  he was asked in an interview, "boxers or briefs"? (like Jordan) and he said "Depends"!

My guess is Saudis and Opec are going to do another market flood to drive the US producers out of the market like they did a few years ago. Banks would not go near the US producers for a couple of years as they lost billions but the run up in oil prices got them back in. That  means some real low prices for a year or so to squeeze out the high cost producers and then a run up to $100 a barrel. Hopefully the US can refill the strategic oil reserve before the run up.

Price been falling here for a month. Would be even less if no refinery and carbon tax on top.

We are almost down to $3 [reg gas] now. I am thinking after Christmas we may get below $3. If that happens it's time to fill all the tanks again.

Interesting Doc! That brought a few good memories back for you! They are open 24/7 there and that's the cheapest I've found in my travels if you're rolling through.

Washington
Seeing that intersection brings back a lot memory's back in the 70's, 80's and into the 90's hauling fuel across highway 36. There was a terminal on south of Washington we use to load at and went threw Washington a lot in the winter going out to a refiner in western Kansas to load number one fuel to take back to south east Nebraska. Current fuel price at Sam's club in Lincoln Ne is $2.48 unleaded and $3.60 diesel just filled up this AM. Most other places were $3.12 unleaded and $4.05 diesel.

Little gas station down the road has gas for 2.49.  Their price on diesel is not very good.  I get diesel with upside and the best I've done recently was about 3.39.  I'm hoping to see diesel down to $3.

He is taking credit for the price drop caused by putting so many EVs on the road that the demand for fossil fuels is dropping causing price drops  ;D

We seem to be at about parity, for now, between gas and propane. Gas looks to be around 2.50 or so, propane just got filled up for 2.47, I think. Diesel is still quite high, around 4.50 and a couple weeks ago I bought Kerosene for 6.60(! ouch). I did fill my car tank, with premium, for less than 40 bucks a week or so ago and I'm hoping to do similarly today.

I saw regular for $2.37 cash today with $2.47 credit card .Now what caused that drop in prices I have no idea other than say politics had nothing to do with it IMO and say no more about it .However I really don't think EV's had anything with it either .Geeze when I joined the navy in '67 it was 27 cents .Four years later in '71 it was 42 cents and I thought it was highway robbery .

Here propane is less than half of gas price, that's comparing pump price on gas and delivered to a 500 gallon tank for propane.

Yeah, I'm not sure what a good price is for propane, we may be over paying, but I've seen elsewhere that mid 2 bucks wasn't terrible.
