We have a bumper crop on all nuts this year. The winter squash and pumpkins did excellent too. As for the squirrels, they had a rough winter here last year and most of them did not make it. There is only a few around the woods.

The nut crop is making it hard to hunt deer and turkey this fall though. They say to hunt around an oak tree that has a good crop of nuts but what do you do when the woods is full of nuts.

I did finally see two squirrels at my place this Saturday. Friday and Saturday was the first time we had a good soaking rain in a LONG time...the birds and squirrels really had a good time with it, then again the dog had a great time chasing all of them as well

Those two squirrels were playing in and around the hickory tree, but I haven't seen them taking any for themselves
