Chain Mortiser .....

It doesn't take long to find out you need one. I thought I'd check with y'all and see if anyone has one they no longer need.

The oil is all in Texas, but the dipsticks are in D.C.

Bump. Just wanted to put it back up here in case someone who has one or knows someone who has one, hasn't seen this.
I'm fixing to have to buy a new one pretty soon but am hoping to find that one that is sitting collecting dust with no future prospects of making any more square holes in timbers......

There was one on Ebay. I think it was 1400.00 or there abouts.  Don't know if it's still available or not. I did a search and it didn't come up , but here another that looks promising.    http://cgi.ebay.com/MAFELL-CHAIN-MORTISER-MORTISING-TOOL-RAFTER-CUTTER_W0QQitemZ7562654387QQcategoryZ46584QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks teach. I did a search on ebay last week but somewho missed it. I have limited ebay experience (6 buys I think without looking). I think my best bet is to wait til just before the end of the auction?
Thanks for the heads up.

Yes I am. The one on ebay didn't seem like much of a great deal after checking into it. Do you have one you'd like to sell (or give away for a end-of-the-year tax write off :D)?

Oh no, no, no, no.... :D  I'm keeping my Makita long after my project is done.   8)  I was just going to share my experience in buying a new one if you're wanting to go that route.
