Have always used "home-made" scaffolding, since I have usually have more time........and trees/lumber/planks........than I do money. Just go to the nearest thicket and cut some 4-6 inch sweet gum of the correct length. Depending on how tall they need to be and what surface I'm working on, either stand them up and cross brace, or put 'em in the ground with minimal bracing. Have got a supply of 2 x 12 x 12s that I keep around for the walkboards. Some 2 x 6s bolted or nailed for the supports. Only problem, this stuff is all HEAVY. When through with it, just disassemble piece by piece or, if it can safely fall, cut the poles with a chainsaw and let it come crashing down............
