Computer freezes at members map

Anyone else having this problem?- I did't know the repairmans number. Maybe I should delete my forestry forum website and try starting again.

My computer (Win98SE) freezes up solid when loading wmv files. Can't get anything to work, not even ctrl-alt delete to end the tasks running. Can only shut off the power and start up with power on.

Not sure if that is the same treatment you are getting but when I view the members map, I do have to refresh at least once to get it to work.

Edit: Just tried it again, and it takes a loooooooong time to download, even with 256 DSL. So maybe the looooooong download is what you are experiencing. It appeared my system was locked up too, and when I went to the states map, all the 'trees' were superimposed over the member names, until I refreshed and waited a loooooong time again (hey 5 minutes seems looooong

) for the trees to show up in their right place on the US map.

I have not been able to view it for the same reason since the new house work was done last summer,figgured it was somthing I was doing wrong :(
Nothing works and have to restart the computer. Using XP Home.

Thanks a lot guys-beenthere and breederman. I was not waiting long enough for the page to unload. When I put my pin on the members map there were only about 10 members on it . for some reason there were a lot of pins off the map on top of the page. Any way I got to make my mark on the map.

I never could get my tree to grow where I planted it. I haven't checked in a long time but best I remmber it showed me up in Alaska or somewhere cold like that :D

It's an Internet Explorer "disfunction", because of this extreme amount of data. I'm not sure why IE can't interpret it, but Firefox will load the page almost instantly and flawlessly. You might want to download a copy of a Fire Fox Browser like I have done to try on web pages that you find you have problems with. It's not just Forestry Forum but pages all over the web. It's handy to have. That's what I use for the members map.

I'll give firefox browser a try. Things seem to work with internet explorer but I have to refresh the page. Thanks Tom

The firefox browser downloads the members map page better. Thanks Jeff and Tom
