I am setting up a Logosol Planer and need to setup a vacuum system. How small can I go and would it be OK to run two 1 1/2 Hr blowers instead a 3Hp?

I've been running mine temporarily with a single 3hp collector until I finally get a permanent location to set the machine with the dedicated Logosol 4hp collector. It seems 3hp, whether as a single unit or, I would imagine, as two 1 1/2's, is just not enough to clear out all the chips. I'm wondering if 4hp will even be enough. I'd feel better with 5 or more.
I'm also still collecting the chips in bags which is a major hassle as production has to stop every 10 minutes to empty the bags. A better system is shooting it to a large container or wagon.

Sorry to wreck your day, but my 10 horse, 4000cfm pendu blower still isn't cutting it for me. went from a 5 horse to a 10 horse on the 26 inch blower and it still seams to clog up from time to time. of course that is on 8 -10 inch t&g at roughly 40 ft/min. but if the maching can do it, I want it done.

I have had luck with a series of small 2hp blowers hooked in parallel to a larger trunk line.  I can switch up the hp for heavier cutting if necessary.  The maximum hp is now 8 hp with 4 blowers going.  For lighter cutting I can get by with 4hp.  But for a moulder this size I wouldnt go less than 10hp.  Put some cleanouts in the ducts and got a HD leaf blower to blast out most clogs.  Cyclones help also to pull the heavier debris from the lines.  I currently have 2 in my current setup.

The 4 HP blower from Logosol is minimal for the 260.  I am puttting another 5 HP blower on port 4 and run the other 3 ports on the Logosol blower.  The early 260's had a lot of issues with not clearing out the debris - and believe me, you'll have dumptruck loads of sawdust and chips.  That's the nature of finishing lumber.  Plan an environmental response.

I'm running a 40hp cornell blower with 10" suction pipe choked down at the end to four 4" pipes. I have no problems sucking chips my problem is that inside the chips pile up where there is no suction and I have to blow them with a air chuck into one of the suction pipes. Logosol told me I need to set up small tubes with air pressure in the spots where the chips collect to move them in a direction of a suction pipe.

I'm running 2 3 hp grizzley blowers with no problems,  each blower splits to 2 4 inch pipes which are pvc connected to near the planer then black flex hose to the planer. I have about 40 feet of hose floating around the shop. The blowers discharge via 6 inch pvc out side to an open pile no bags.

I did put a cardboard cover over the fixed side cutter to keep the vacume oriented near the cutter which helped that side. The movable side cutter occasionally has a problem with chipping out large pieces and damaging the flex tube which is pretty much shredded.

I've been running out of planer power before I run out of blower suck... PH 261 with 3 hp cutter heads.

I just ran 1200 sq ft of 7.5 inch juniper and 5.5 inch juniper yesterday planning 4/4 to 3/4 in one pass. My RBI is on hand to trim fat lumber to 4/4 so we don't jam the logosol. It DOSN"T like poor lumber!
