Hi to you Jim and the rest of you lads ;D

I relocated from Durham to Suffolk (England) and been off line for a while. Wife recovering well from cancer attack.
Done lots of renovation/remodelling on my new property. I'm now in a nice rural location, lots of old (200 to 500 year old) houses around about. I did some demolition to get rid of a shabby old crappy shed outside and will replace it with a 14 foot by 10 foot suffolk style frame with weather boarding, traditional sprocket pieces etc to be my long awaited and visualised workshop.
Great to see forum is as busy as ever! ;)
Recently went to see coggeshall tithe barn in Essex, 16/18 inch square posts, 10 inch by 5 inch braces, HUGE dude!! :D Its about 800 years old and was rescued from demolition only just in time (farmer wanted to build new houses on it 20 years ago)

Its good to hear you all are doing well. I've enjoyed spending the last hour googling info on the Coggeshall barn, that is a beauty. Pics from your surroundings would be great to see  :).

Thanks for your welcome back lads. ;D
Yes I will be gathering together photos in the future, even my neighbours house is 500 years old, theres SO many and the local style is interesting. Even new build houses adopt the traditional forms and proportions, though not always traditional construction. There are a few pics already on my gallery, but I aim to expand that (theres some pics of French frames also) ;) :)
