Same here. Hoping all goes well and he is tearing around very soon.

Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.

I want to thank you all, and thank God for hearing those prayers.  Jack is better today, and out of ICU. 8)  The steroids and the IV antibiotics have reduced the inflammation and given the little guy some relief.  Last night the swelling displaced his trachea.  My nurse wife informs me that can cause cardiac problems, and Jack showed some signs of that with a high heart rate.  As the inflammation was reduced, his heart rate  came down.
Jack ate a little bit today, and watched Bonanza with Grandma.  8) Big improvement over not being able to lift his head.  Thank you all again.

Thanks to God! Faron, I said a prayer for Jack and your family when I first read about his illness. I am so thankful Jack is getting better.  I find it hard to imagine the concern and helplessness felt by parents (and grandparents) of a very ill child. My heart goes out to your family.  Please keep us informed as time allows.

Jack was released from the hospital and continues to improve.  Thanks again.  I was really afraid for him for a while.  This is Jack.

It's great to hear Jack is doing better!!  Hopefully he'll be up to speed soon.

Faron

Cousins, Patty.  Those two can make things reeeal interesting.   8)  Jack was almost back to normal this morning, I thought.  His mom called a couple hours ago and he seems to be showing some symptoms again.  Got some more appropriate medication in him after consultation with his doctor.  We are watching him closely.  I am for getting him to Reily Hospital in Indy if he doesn't improve real quick.  Prayers work, and we may need more. Thanks to all.

Faron

Thanks again, everyone.  Jack seems to be mending well. It turned out to be inflammation from tonsils and not an abscess as was first believed.  He has been to a specialist who won't operate on the tonsils unless he has 3 events in a calender year.  ???  So if he has one more in December, and then one in January, still no tonsil operation.  As sick as he was, we are not interested in seeing this happen again.  I was really worried about him for a while.  They are going to talk with his doctor and likely get a second opinion.

Glad you are getting a second opinion. I think the doctor is just delaying the inevitable, the tonsils will have to come out anyway. I went through that as a kid and really sympathize with him.
