Arky,

Looks good. Boy does that bring back some memories. I put this one up in 1996 with the help of the 10 caretakers on the estate. The owner really cut me a break as I had NEVER done anything like this before. Perhaps he thought his guys could always finish it up if I couldn't do it. It was the best run estate I have ever seen, a real 2+2=20 situation. All the joints had to be TIGHT, he was a stickler for details. Great guy. I alway think of this guy and one other customer when I think of the "pay it forward" mentality, they really cut a GREENHORN a break and belived in me.

Reid, I love the round poles. How can we figure out a way for you to teach me to make one of those? ;D   That would be perfect somewhere in a secluded spot on our property, only screened in. I have thousands of northern white cedar pole sized trees that need to be thinned that would be the perfect size for that. I have some windfalls that certainly would make shingles. I even have neighbors with shingle machines. ;D
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

what you need to do Jeff, is get a froe and split your self some shakes  ;D ;D

Jeff,

The joints are a simple saddle joint cut with a Lancalot head on a grinder. There is lots of hardware (some custom, some off the shelf) hidden from view, that holds it together. Nothing complicated except the "white knuckle death grip" on the grinder w/ the Lancalot on it. Most dangerous tool I have ever seen/ used. Guy on Extreme Home Makeover was bitten by one recently , as was the assistant head caretaker on my job back in 1996. Both made full recoveries, but had a lot more respect for the things afterward.

May be true but it seems that some of the woods have lost its color?

Yea the floor was 5/4 x6 T&G ERC and I toe nailed it by hand.
The angles were a bit tough to work out on the roof line being 22 1/2 with a 15 slope but she is done.  Now off to bigger and better things.

It is to be a Yoga studio.  I mostly wanted to use it for a deer stand.  They would come out in the field while we were working.

I worked on redoing this barn over 3 years ago and this watertower last year for the same folks.

You do some interesting things,  Arky.  I've always got the impression that you work all the time,  till an informant saw you goofing off yesterday.  You were spotted south of the "Queen City' at Ozark yesterday at the junction of 14 and 65 :o :o

Yes, I recall your threads on those two other projects as well. You do good work.

Hmm, a Yoga studio, now that is an interesting application. Maybe we will see the owner on TV doing her morning stretches one day.  ;)

Have a good one.  :)

Well Bro Noble I guess your informant forgot to mention the boxes of blades on the back of the truck and I was beating it South like my tail was on fire.  I had left the house before the rooster got up to go to Mt Vernon to pick up blades that I was in bad need of since the holidays had messed up my shipping routine. But all is well for another week any way.  I would have been back faster but I stopped in Ozark for a few seconds and got some grandson loving on the way back.
I get some weird jobs.  But they keep it interesting and often pay well.

My informant (JTMccallam) was in the Springfield area visiting relatives for the holiday and was on his way to visit me.  He said he got your phone no. off the truck and was going to try and call you and perhaps visit.  We had a nice visit with JT and his son JD :)
