Ok.  Arky said to see if I could put a pic of Woody's Shed in Timber Framing. VIOLA! Here it is.

It has been raining on and off all day, but they have kept at it.  Putting on the TIN, now.

Looks good! I like the monitor roof, of course you couldn't give Wanda a monitor and not Woody. :D Is that a full timber frame with mortise and tenons? I don't see any conectors.

Dave,
Yes it is a full timberframe. The only connector is at the top.

The frame was done by building a timber truss with a connector at the top.  The rafters were cut in so that the post fit in like this kicker into the post.  Then 2x8x25's were bolted on to make the bottom cord.  They were put on each side of the timbers which are 6x6's.  We bolted on just one side then raised the truss up on top of the post. Then bolted in the kickers and other side of the bottom cord.

This is a close up of the timbers and bottom cords where the kickers come in.

This is the south side and Woody sits inside of the far right bay and the edger sits in the middle.

This is the north side where the power comes in.  The room is for electrical and blade storage.

This is not all of the building, Just the middle section.  There will be an addition on both ends that go 3 more bays then turn to the south side.  One end will be where the mill sits so the logs will be under cover and the other end will be where the green chain ends.
Building right now is 76 ft long and 24 ft wide with 12 ft side walls.

Get a piece of tin and on the next sunny day walk out and hold it over your head.  You will notice the sun's heat right through the tin.  The board decking will help insulate the heat inside the building.  So it keeps it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.  It also deadens sound better even if the electric mill is not very loud.  Besides we make boards and have lots laying around.
