How do you neutralize grease odors in the kitchen when done frying?

Today I decided I'd use up some potatoes I had on hand. I decided to make a huge batch of home made potatoe chips. they'll be great this evening with some fresh sour cream, cheddar cheese, chives, and bacon crumbles. Only touble is the whole house smells like grease! Do any of you out there have a trick that you use to remedy the smell of grease after the frying process is over? It's in the mid 50's today so I have the patio door open with then fan on the central air circulating the fresh air into the house. Thanks for your thoughts.

Why would you want to get rid of the cooking odors?   I love going into a house where there is a good cook.  It smells of all the things that they use to cook as well as many of the things that they have cooked.  It is a warm, homey feeling.  :P 8)

True  Tom but the grease smell was a bit much. Now these T-Bones I've got broiling MIGHT cover it up. We'll see.  ;D

Some vinegar in a shallow bowl seems to work ok. 
Use glass or plastic bowl.

as tom said. i have a restuarant next door. and the smell of the grease from the friers------------------ ;D ;D. and as said, plug arterys in seconds

QUICK!  Slice up a couple of onions and get them on top of those T-bones!  Oh wait, that was yesterday. ::)  Slice up the onions anyway and just leave them out for a little while.  Then mix up a beer batter and enjoy some scrumptious fried onion rings. ;D

You're a man after my own heart Dang. Those were big T-bones so tonight we're having a Spring Mix salad with some steak on the side and some fresh tomatoes - oh yeah  and home made croutons. And since you mentioned it I'm going slice up some onions to go along with the salad. :)

I bought this new fryer which works great. It's called a "FishNChick" - got it at Bass Pro. Really does a nice job of keeping the grease at the right temperature. I had re-used the grease a couple times though and I think if the oil had been fresh it would have been less 'odiferous'.

Over Christmas I took the fryer out to my M-in-laws house. One of the things I made were butterflied chcken breasts. I strated with split breasts and filleted them off the bone. Split breasts still have those little loins in them. I butterflied them and then took a tenderizer mallet to them just to give them that corrugated texture so they'd hang on to the flour,spice and eggwash. When they were fried up they were literally as big around as a dinner plate. Made some points with my M-in-law that day. She dug my mustard greens too.  ;D

We had pork tenderloins, ff's and breaded shrimp in our big fryer last night. While it's tasty I too hate the smell of grease. I usually turn the hood fan up as high as it will go and open a door that pushes air into the house. Problem was it's about 15°'s out and the heat soon goes with the smell. On the other hand I grew up cooking as a fry cook in my folks restaurant and can remember coming home with a layer of grease and that smell on my clothing. Pleasant memories....nahhh. :D

When I cook cabbage, I simmer apple cider with some lemon slices in it on the stove.  I don't know why that wouldn't work for the grease smell too.   :)

When I cook liver and onions we have to air the house out regardless of the outside temp  :D

Mmmmm, sure tastes good but simmering onions can sure leave a permeating odor  ::)
