Small blocks
« on: December 14, 2008, 09:01:20 AM »
I know some larger blocks were sold here earlier this year.

I have a couple of crates of smaller blocks to sell.  I am not sure of what to charge so I am asking your guys help on the price.  They are from an greenhouse auction this fall.  The guy also did tree service too.

The wood block has a sticker on it.  The name on them is McGraw Edison, Brewer-Titchner.  It is made in the USA.  Size 4" inch. Working load 1400 lbs.  Rope size 1/2 MR.  There is a milk crate and a half of these.

There also is some metal blocks.  They look the same size as the others but all I can find on them is a large number 4 and Crosby.

Here is three pictures of the metal ones.

Here is three pictures of the wood ones.  The blocks are wood but the pulleys and frame is metal on these.

Okay as to the price.  I am having no luck in pricing this things new or used.  I see Northern sells cheap knockoffs for 30+ dollars each.

So I am going to set the price at $12.50 each or $25/set.  If I am out of line let me know.

There is two sets of the steel ones and nine sets of the wood ones.  Only a couple of the wood blocks have the hook safty latches but I seen you can get new ones online.  If you need them I can get you the site.  The hooks all have the holes for the safety latches.

As for the shipping I will only charge what it costs me as close as I can get it.

Loghead and FDH,  I IM me your shipping info and I will try to get you a price on it.  Costa Rica will not be cheap I suspect. :o

FDH,  The USPS Priority mail flat rate box looks like the best deal.  I am sure one set will fit easily in the small box.  The small flat rate box is 9.80 + .65 for delivery confirmation=10.45 plus insurance if you like.

I think I missed out on a good deal.  I cut the hooks clean off and use a shackle instead.  No chance of something coming off, no tape or string needed either as some of the old hooks required. The only drawback is it takes time to switch loads, which usually isn't a concern.   Did you have any triples.
