Diagonal cut
« on: October 22, 2003, 05:54:11 PM »
Cut 4"x8"x8'  cant on the diagonal for a local pallet shop. They need them to hold steel coils in place.
Made a jig out of 2"x8"x8'  add wedges (screwed  on)  cut to the right angle, add a stop on the far end(screws) ,and clamp it on the mill.
Tested with a 4"x4"x 8' cut fine.
I was afraid the cant would walk up the wedge, no problem.
With one helper we cut 25 / 50 min.
Blade broke, weather moved in,started to get dark, shut down.
