Very expensive kind, but nothing like some down in the midwest. Farm around me had 19.2M change hands last year.

I woke up to a couple of very concerned calves looking at me, wondering who was going to move the fence if the hooman was down for the count.

My search area is about an hour or more north of Swamp when I get this way, I keep thinking there has to be something west of the gates in the land unorganized townships that would suit my fancy.

It's 72F and raining now at 11:00 PM, feels like winter.   ffcheesy

Our forecast is for the highs to be only in the high 80's for the next week so I hope that I can get plenty done before it cooks again.

Same here, and the rain felt good, only problem is when the death ray does re-appear as you know it goes into sauna mode...  That was a harsh lesson to learn, pretty sure I regretted it the first time I said something like "oh great it rained, it will be so much nicer now" in July or August.

62° here today, showery dark day. Haven't seen any 90's here all month. Had them back in June.

We are below normal also.  Been raining all week.  Right now it is 75 degrees.  Last summer we had 54 days above 100 degrees.

Of course I am not sawing today but the forecast is for 100°.  Yikes !!!   :sunny:

Hopefully we will soon cool off a bit as Hot August fades into September.

I am thankful that my sawing schedule is 7-12 and will remain until I finish my current sawing job no matter what the weather does.  I saw in the morning and they stack in the afternoon.

It was 107 in the shade of my covered porch Wednesday.  It is a cheap indoor/outdoor digital thermometer from Walmart, so no idea how accurate.  It is just "close".

So I have the mill in the barn doing the 50 hr mx and repairing the lubemizer and moving the 3 psi check valve.  Also (insert fanfare here) I will be installing MagicMan's board return and wiring it in.

I usually have the 5 foot fan inside, but today I moved it outside and ran the water hose to a water mister.  It took a little trial and error to get the spray just the right about away from the fan to not flood the fan.

I guess the freeze last winter put a crack in it.  I don't think it will last too much longer.

I got my log mover and chainsaw loaded to go buck some residential yard pines and move them to the street.  The trees are down have been available for several months.  I had given up on them because back pain and hot weather.  This week, we are having a window of cooler air and low humidity.  The temps are predicted to be near a hundred mid next week.  I promised I could move them through a narrow opening in the fence and not rut the yard or scrape up any grass, which I can do with a log arch and large mower.  Next week, some young men will parbuckle them onto a trailer.  Fetching logs is not a summer time sport for old men.

It was 80 at 6 something this morning, 90 by 11 and headed up.  I had hay on the ground and finished baling by a little after 11.  I'm not sure what it was on the tractor except HOT.  I usually like an open station tractor but today wasn't a good day for it.

Left over sun with all of Texas under it. So the sun shines longer in Texas! smiley_smug01
The heat and the sun isn't as bad as all that Gulf humidity.  Texas has more shore on the Gulf, so we have more humidity too. smiley_smug01 smiley_smug01
