SOLD Lucas 618 sawmill for sale (very low hours)
« on: September 06, 2010, 04:55:57 PM »
I have a lucas 618 sawmill for sale. This is a very good sawmill with very low hours (80 something hours). I do not want to sell this mill but need the money more than the mill right now.
I am asking $6500 for the mill, new price is $11,995 so it is a really good buy. I will be posting this on e-bay in 3 or 4 days, just wanted to offer it here first. I will take pictures of the mill set up tomorrow morning and will E-mail them to anyone interested.
The mill comes with 3 blades (one is at the saw doc, may be damaged, I need to pick it up). Also comes with the sharpener. I have printed out the manual as well.
If interested, please pm me on here or call (918)-803-1537 if no answer leave a message, I will return your call. I am located in eastern Oklahoma about 45 minutes east of tulsa.

Thank you.
Morgan.

I also made a trailer for this mill. The trailer isn't great as it is pieced together out of 2 old trailers and some scrap square tubing but it works well. I use it to haul the mill short distances and it has done fine. It is ugly though.  If you wanted the trailer as well, you would be welcome to it.

That's a good price on a very capable mill, I am a little biased.

So, did you sell it? Some of us might be curious to know what it brought on Ebay, if you don't mind saying.
No matter how conventional wisdom may fly in the face of radical thought, it's still the most popular type.

Yes, I put it on e-bay and it got bid on at the last minute. The mill brought $6500, received partial payment and the guy is supposed to pick it up Wednesday.
I really hate doing the e-bay thing, after selling fees and pay-pal fees I will only be getting around $6100 for the mill.
I am really surprised that it didn't sell off of here, only got a few calls on it.
When I bought this mill, I called on several, one here, and several on craigslist. Every time I called on one it had just been sold, most hadn't been advertised for more than a couple days. Guess it's just signs of the economy.
I will mourn the loss of my mill  :( .
I may buy another one when I get things lined out, probably a small band mill ( been eyeballing the ez boardwalk junior mills). The price tag is my only reasoning not to return to the world of swingblades. That and the fact that all of the big trees on my place have already been whittled into lumber leaving me with smaller stuff that would be better suited for a bandmill..
