I'm trying to locate a thread insert for the thread in the picture but I don't know what they call it.
It's about nine threads per inch on  1/2 inch steel rod.
Very coarse thread.
Any ideas?

If it can't be nailed or glued then screw it

Might be a ACME thread pattern.
There are a few different thread patterns that are squared on the peak and root.
