I've got a 20" planer with a spiral head, a 718 Woodmaster and have made some v-grove, base board, chair rail with them. The 718 is easey to set up as a rip saw, but takes a bit more time to configure as a moulder. It does maks a good product but I wouldn't attempt to try to got into business running something requireing a high production rate.
I've got a good size pile of stuff I want to turn into flooring and bead board and with two and four head moulders out of my price range right now. I'm going to saw the blanks and have an outfit with a production machine run the profile on my material. If things work out, maybe I'll look at buying a moulder in the future.
