Hello & Merry Christmas to All Members!

I have a project on sandy desert arid zone forest planning. If somebody has a relevant experience or education, please let me know. Any kind of help is appreciated.

Mohsin

Hello Mohsin, and welcome to the ForestryForum. :)  My Brother-in-law did some work in that part of the world, I think. I'd be glad to ask for his input, but he would probably need more specific questions and some more background information to be of help.
What are the soil types, annual rainfall, and goals of the project?
I hope you'll stay with us and report on your progress. This could be interesting. :)

Welcome to the board Mohsin.

I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

Welcome, Mohsin.

Whether we have anybody that can help or not, it would still be mighty interesting to hear what you are doing and how you go about accomplishing it.

I read in The National Geographic magazine about projects that were oriented toward stabilizing the desert and trying to stop its encroachment upon non-desert areas.  Is this what you are doing?

Mohsin

Thanks Tom,

Let me have a little spade work done and I will let you have the summary of what and how do I plan to accomplish this challenging task.

Regards,

Mohsin.

   Welcome!

There are some university websites in Arizona that go over biomes- not from the perspective of managed forestry but in terms of the plants and altitude. I don't know if it is at all the same as what you have for habitat or what you need for info. I will look and see if I can find the webrefs- it's 2 computers back. I think it was Universitys in Flagstaff and maybe tucson, not arizona state in Phoenix. I will look. lw

Try www.for.nau.edu/azproject/   .  It doesn't directly answer your question but nibbles at the edge of it and might be productive of some links. I haven't looked at that site since 2000/2001.  lw
