I'll have to ask my partner in the tool business, if he intends to get some more from his supplier.
He purchases all the tools, including the handles.
So I don't know where he gets them.

I believe he is still away from home, at his site where he is building his retirement timber frame home.
When he gets back, I'll ask him.

Last time he was here I asked him what was up with the handle supplier, and he told me that he didn't have any more, or wasn't making any more. And we haven't found a replacement handle maker, as yet.
Sorry for such a late response to your question. I though I had posted a reply a while ago.

I am interested in the item #'s M187B and M187C. I am new to some of this and want to make sure I can do what I want to do with these. My thinking is to use them to bore 1 1/2" and 2" holes in timbers (for morticing) to construct a small timber frame shed. Would these suffice for that? Do you have bits that would work with these handles? WHat range of bits both in shank style and bit size will each of these handle? Any other information would be great to have. Regarding some of the other T handles with no bits in them do you have bit(s) for them at all? Again I am green so anything you can tell me would be helpful.

Thanks,
Reggie Ogg (new member)

On another note - Do you still have the corner chisels left? I can not seem to locate the pi for them - Am I missing them some how?
Thanks,
Reggie

Reggie:

The pictures of the corner chisels are in my gallery.

Here is another:

Here is the last one. Somehow it was not posted or it had been removed previously.

You are correct that these T- handles can be used with bits for boring out mortises.
We do have some bits on hand with the ends that are shaped to fit into these handles and make it so that you can twist the handle to bore a hole.
I'll have to check the list and or box and see what sizes with the proper ends for the handles we have left, and get back to you tomorrow.

In the mean time can you send me an email via the regular email system so that I can send you more information about the procedures for purchasing out tools?

Thanks for your interest in our tools.

I just posted a video of the Millers Falls machine that was on the list.
This machine has been sold, but I wanted you to see the video so that you'd know or could see what a nice Millers Falls boring machine looks like and how it works.

What that dry white oak Jim?

Jim is correct in that, this situation is the toughest.  You want to have a sharp bit (you will learn to sharpen them and keep them sharp), and keep your momentum going.  Stopping and starting is more difficult though not always unavoidable.  Soft woods and green wood will be easier of course.
Anything someone can design, I can sure figure out how to fix!
If I say it\\\\\\\'s going to take so long, multiply that by at least 3!

After doing a little reserch online I found that its most likely a repo knockoff. I prob. picked it up at the scrapyard for 25cents a pound so didn't lose much, oh well.

Thanks Jim, the more I look at it the more it looks like junk. The eye has squared corners and the poll side of the eye is flat not round like they ought to be. Thanks again.

Cast steel is ok in an axe. Cast iron is not.

10-4 Jim cast iron is no good for anything that recives much impact, cast steel on the other hand ain't terrible but I perfer forged(hand forged) being a bladesmith. :D
The way its rusted makes me very suspect that is cast iron and not steel at all.
