I beleive this motor will bolt right up to the bell houseing. Is there anything else i will have to do. This motor is coming off of a generator. Thanks for any input.

When we put the 4045T in my 440 it was pretty easy.. The Crank Dampener/Waffle Bushing/Shafts that goes on the front of the crank for the Hydraulic pump was the biggest pain on my engine. Took sometime to find the right parts..
I'm not running my Tach/Speedo, cause my gear wouldn't work on the 4045T.. Not that its needed. Trying to remember for positive, their was an issue with the Water pump but I don't remember what it was. Is yours a Turbo'd 4045? If so you'll prolly have to cut the hood or raise it up a couple inches to clear the Turbo, And the Exhaust will come up 4" or so back from the stock location. Also if its turbo'd you will have to get creative for an air filter, since it will have the intake for the turbo entering from the back side of the engine. I am running a '99 Ford F150 4.6l Air box.. works really well, have it Wired to the Left side of the block near the Blow-by tube. Ive had mine in and out so many times that its a breeze too do.. I can pull and re-install my engine in about 2 hours.

Its from a Gen-set, do you know what the HP rating is? Mine was dyno'd at 130hp when we got it.. About twice what the 440 comes from the factory with.. Really easy to Break U-Joints, and the Clutch doesn't like to hold when your pulling really hard.

What did you do for the hydralic pump? What kind of parts did you have to get for it. It is non-turbo. Will that make it any easier getting in? Is there a heavier clutch i can buy? I dont know the horsepower of the motor.

The water pump on the powertec is in a different place on the engine. On the old engine I think the fan bolts to the water pump. You will need a spacer to hook the engine fan up, if the bolt pattern is the same and the lenth is correct you may be able to use the spacer from the generator.

I retained the factory hydraulic pump, the hole front Bracket will bolt up (Radiator support/Motor mount bracket). Been many years since we did the motor swap.. I couldn't tell you exactly what parts had to buy to make it all work.. It wasn't as many as you may think.. its a pretty easy swap. The engine being a N/A might make it so you don't have to modify the hood, which should help with the swap. From what i have found, the options are pretty limited on Clutches.. I bought the most Heavy Duty clutch i could when I replaced it almost 2 years ago. Once you run it a bit you'll learn the feel of when the clutch is goin to slip, and you can make a shift or drop the drag.

I have made a jib for my Skid steer for pulling the engine through the front between the Limb-risers (cab on), or use my Excavator.. If you have the Means pulling the Cab makes doin the engine very easy. Makes it so you have a bigger area to work with

Question for bobus2003 or anyone else who can answer
I had decided to just redo my engine and got deeper into it and between my sleeves the block was cracked. Anyways brings me back to this 4045 it is the powertech. I had a guy from shafers enterprises in wolf lake, ill tell me to avoid this motor with it being a powertec. Not sure why. It seems like it is an easy enough swap. Any ideals? He said if it was pre powertec go for it? Is something special about the powertec that wont work? My only concern is still the hydralic pump bushing? Any ideals are much appreciated. Thank you again.

I put a 4045 out of a 7700 non turbo combine into a '77 GM 1 ton dually.   ;D  Great engine but heaaaaaaaaaaaaavy.  We had to build a top end water jacket, throttle linkage, bellhousing, and mootor mounts.  We made four motor mounts and the 4 speed tranny and clutch from the truck bolted right up to the engine without any problems.  We changed over to electric rad fans from a dodge car.  Had to also remanufacture the firewall to make her fit.  The truck was amazing and had all the power in the world.  37 MPG empty or loaded didn't matter.  Had to put in heavier front springs out of a grain truck too (3 ton).  Finally had to retire the old girl because she had so much cancer that when you hit a bump you looked in the rearview mirror to see what fell off.   :D

The guys at Schaefer Enterprises know their stuff, They set-up my 4045T to go into my 440.. Yes you would want a pre powertech, Powertechs are Computer controled.. Pre-powertech's arn't but offer the same power

Ok thanks bobus2003.
I knew they new their stuff but just wanted to know. That motor is a steal less than 100 hours for $2000. I will just get me a block from shafers and rebuild a 4239d thanks again.
