Log Dogs????
« on: January 30, 2012, 12:22:35 PM »
Looking for a set (4) of EZ Dogs or Gripper Dogs and Frame Dogs.  Seems like these were once readily available but not any more.  I've tried contacting Peterson directly by email on their EZ Dogs but got no response.  I'm looking to improve the way I can secure logs to my bunks while sawing with my Lumber Smith.  Thanks in advance for any leads.

I like the look of those, if you find them, I would like a  set too
I cut it twice and it's still too short

Did you guys ever find a set of Log Dog's?

From Peterson's website: http://petersonsawmills.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/manuals_ez_dog_guide.pdf

Send "Wife" or "Husband" a PM here and they can probably hook you up. These were an excellent investment for me. It ended the issues I had with logs moving once I added the log bunk in the picture you see in this thread and then added Log Dogs to it. Peterson's dogs were aluminum which was easier on the teeth if you clipped one. (And you will.) I think the blue ones pictured in this thread were steel and the gray gripper dogs are like a composite plastic. My personal preference was the aluminum. You can see what a nice bite I was able to get with the sharp points, yet still have the relative softness of aluminum to protect my saw teeth.

No luck so far, I'll try sending them a PM and see if they respond. I sent an email to their website and posted to their sponsor forum but got no response.  :-[

That's not like Peterson's. Let me know if you don't have any luck.

Hi Redleg,

Well I can say we are still here and smiling. Not sure what email address you have been trying, but we don't seem to have anything. Maybe there's a spam blocker at work...can you forward your 'sent' email to my personal address - swingmills@xtra.co.nz.
And we would love to help you with some aluminum E-Z Dogs, which don't damage your blades as much when you hit them, and have replaceable spikes when you've chopped too much off them LOL!
