Log Grapple
« on: April 21, 2012, 08:51:46 PM »
Like new Valby log grapple w/ hanger and rotator. I believe the grapple to be a GR55 model. The grapple needs cleaned up, but was used very little in the 4 years I had it and is like new. We dismantled the loader it was on, this is the reason for selling. The hanger I designed and made and the rotater is off the IMTCO loader. The rotator works well, but does needs new seals at some point. The rotator has a slow leak. $2800.00 buys all and part of that, if sold off of here, will go to continue the FF. Thank you.

Just guessing, I would say between 500-600lbs. I'll try to find the original bill of lading to see what the grapple weighed at shipping and I can guess the hanger and rotator from that if you need hard #'s. Thanks.

I found the original bill from the dealer, it's actually a GR60 model. Still for sale. Thanks.

It's a continuous rotating grapple, the hoses passes thru the rotator. I'm fairly certain the rotator is IMTCO made, the same as the boom it came off of.

If it was a couple of sizes smaller I'd come look. My excavator can only lift 2500# in close and far less when reaching out, I need to get something that doesn't use up my weight capacity too much before I latch onto a big log.
logging small time for years but just learning how,  2012 36 HP Mahindra tractor, 3point log arch, 8000# class excavator, lifts 2500# and sets logs on mill precisely where needed,  Peterson ATS upgraded to WPF mill, maple syrup a hobby that consumes my time. looking to learn blacksmithing.

ok, would you say the rotator is 100lbs or so. I have looked up the grapple weight and just trying to figure out if this will work on my crane.

I still have the grapple and rotator. I would guess the rotator is about 80lbs. GR60 models open to 60". Really would like to get it out of my way, make me a reasonable offer.
