It was a job that really needed doing, and even though I have a backhoe, this one needed more reach as well as a lighter machine with more "flotation" to keep from sinking in and leaving a mess.

Marty and I decided on one of those cute little trackhoes, and it was perfect for the job.  Guess who did not get to operate it  ???

Pipe in and being backfilled.  It started raining as we finished, so I did not get a picture of the finished product, but it walked down nicely.  Big boys like to play in the dirt too.   :)

Ah....so that's what you were doing. When you earlier told me you were gonna be working on the track hoe, I thought you were maybe putting in a septic system at your cabin.

Sweetgum, Tallow, Pines, and much Goldenrod & junk weeds.  It is so good that we Got-R-Done because we had a heavy thunderstorm and much rain last night.  It should settle in nicely.

I took the mini-track back to the rental place yesterday, but I would love to have it at the farm for a few days.  That thing was awesome, even if I did not get to handle the controls.

MM, if you buried pieces of tallow (also known as popcorn tree) in that ditch you will have new tallow trees springing up in no time. I've seen bare logs from a tallow tree sink roots on the bottom of the log and sprout new growth from the top, generating new trees, 3" dbh in just a couple of years. And they also grow new trees from roots and of course the large number of seeds...

Worse than sweetgum...

:-\  Yup, I did bury them, but that will now become part of the yard's lawn so the mower will get them.  Also by next year, that should belong to someone else, so it will be theirs.   ;D

But truthful.  Family drama has been ongoing for too long in PatD and my life.  We are past due for some relief.
